CANBUS with no bulb failure error (95%)

Bulbs of this size cannot be fitted with a resistor matching the resistance of halogen bulbs. Such bulbs would heat up to very high temperatures, shortening their life and creating a hazard.

The bulbs contain an electronic emulator that communicates with most CAN bus systems (diagnostic systems) fitted in cars, which helps avoid false "bulb out" warnings.

Different cars use different CAN bus systems.

They differ in many ways, e.g. data transfer speed and protocol types.

High-speed CAN networks support transfer rates from 40 kbit/s to 1 Mbit/s. The most common rate is 500 kbit/s.

Two protocol versions are currently used in practice: 2.0A (11-bit identifier) and 2.0B (29-bit identifier). Version 2.0B is an extended version of the 2.0A format.

Because of their different current-voltage characteristics, if the car's diagnostic software does not recognise the protocols of the electronic bulb emulator, some models will display a bulb failure warning. In some of these cars the warning may appear before start-up during the diagnostic test; however, once the engine is running and the LED bulbs receive full voltage, the warning disappears. If your car uses this type of software, the warning can be permanently coded out, or you can return the product without any hassle.
